SELF ISOLATION SHOOT

It’s a tough time for us all currently, being away from the world, our loved ones and facilities. I had some time to lounge, binge watch many TV series and eat loads ; but I had a creative block so today I did a self portrait photo shoot using what I had. I dug out my old DSLR camera, an old bed sheet attaching it to the clothing dryer and some fake flowers. It was a challenge as the Auto Focus wasn’t working, I had to create a make shift tripod and use a self timer. However after many attempts, using basic equipment I managed to capture some nice shots, and I like the outcome!

I’ve never created self portraits before but it was an interesting experience as well as enjoyable once I got the angle and positioning right. I wasn’t able to experiment completely in regards to expressions in shots or my composition without a tripod, but despite that I think the images turned out well. I began shooting on my IPhone to start using a self timer but also trying out portrait mode, then got the camera out too. Below is a small handful of the images I captured on my phone.
